春は、コンテスト！

春休みには、南山からも複数の部活動が全国大会へ旅立ち、良い経験を積んできました。

そんな中、現３年のグローバルコース６名とプラス２名が、Global Enterprise Contestに参加しました。

コンテストの内容としては、朝８時に出された社会課題のお題に対し、解決に通じるビジネスアイディアを考え、夕方６時までにビジネスプランを英語で完成・提出、夜８時までにそのプランを紹介する英語の動画を完成・提出となっていました。

今回のお題は

The vast quantity of waste material that modern human beings churn out is having a huge impact on the global environment and all living creatures. In response to this ongoing crisis, efforts are being made not only to reduce the amount of garbage we produce but also to rethink manufactured goods, including the materials utilized in these products and the methods used to produce them. Your challenge is to take a fresh look at the various aspects of an existing product--design, component materials, the manufacturing process and disposal at the end of the product's life--and use science and technology to come up with a revolutionary new product that will have a reduced impact on the global environment.

要するに、商品などを生み出す時に環境に悪いゴミが出てしまうので、それを解決する新しい商品を生み出せ、というテーマでした。

生徒達は、今まで準備してきたものをフル活用して、時間内に面白いアイディアを収支計画書も含めた事業計画書に英語で作ることができました。

動画に関しては、提出直前でパソコントラブルが起こってしまい、提出が大幅に遅れましたが、なんとかやりきりました。

一ヶ月、このコンテストに向けて一生懸命準備をしてきました。

本番の12時間は彼らにとってとても短かったのではないでしょうか。

自分の役割を果たすだけでなく、少しでも良いモノを作ろうと議論している姿は、これからの彼らの成長を楽しみにさせるものでした。

時間がある春は、「コンテスト」ですね。
